Non-urban responders such as Professional and volunteer ski patrollers, search and rescue personnel and other (non-urban) first responders must operate at a level of care above that normally offered by urban first aiders. This is why Peak specializes in non-urban pre-hospital care training. This is required by the rugged terrain and vastness of British Columbia and also by the extended distances and time involved in reaching the advanced care provided by ambulance paramedics.
